Who knew February was such an event-filled month! It’s not just a month for lovers on Valentine’s Day; in western Kentucky there’s a little something for everyone.
Some of the great things about this area of the country are the creativity, the friendliness, the various events … without the excessive traffic or living costs. If you’re considering moving to the Paducah area, here are some great relocation tips. And of course, I’m here if you need any help finding the right home for you!

Family Friendly Events:
- Strike Out Cancer – Feb. 3 & 15
Grab your friends or take your family for a fun night at the Metropolis SuperBowl. These events will help support those battling cancer. Learn more here.
- I Heart President’s Day – Feb. 11
A free event celebrating President’s Day at the Robert Cherry Civic Center. There will be fun activities and goody bags for attendees. Kids can make crafts, learn more about past presidents and can even take a presidential portrait in costume! Learn more here.
- Western KY Polar Plunge and Polar 5k – Feb. 18
This event is for those who are ready for a little thrill. They’re expecting more than 600 to take a chilly dip in Kentucky Lake, all to benefit Special Olympics Kentucky. If you’re not ready to take the plunge, you can also do the 5K or support a friend who is jumping in. Learn all about this fun event here.
- Empty Bowls Project – Feb. 25
If you’ve never been to this event, it truly is amazing! After purchasing a ticket, you’ll be able to pick out your own bowl, all handcrafted by local artists, kids and others in the community. Then, you’ll be able to sample various restaurants from around the area. The best part? The proceeds all go to help feed those who truly do have empty bowls. Learn more here.
- Father & Daughter Dance- Feb. 25

- A Sweetheart of an Evening – Feb. 11-12

- Valentine’s Day Dinner at Discovery Park – Feb. 14
A different setting for dinner with your sweetheart! Have dinner in Dinosaur Hall at Discovery Park of America. You’ll enjoy a candlelit, full meal with soft music playing in the background. Find out more about tickets here.
- Valentine’s Day Weddings – Feb. 14
At the River Discovery Center, Circuit Judge Jeff Hines will perform wedding ceremonies from 1-3pm. With a donation of $100 to the museum, couples can enjoy a simple service to pledge their lives to one another.
The weddings will take place on the second floor which has a beautiful view of the river. Your wedding will be tax deductible! You can even renew your vows if you’re already married! Read more about it here.

- Puttin on the Mitz – Feb. 4
Grab your dancing partner and come to this event at the Kentucky Dam Village Convention Center! Proceeds will support the Marshall County Exceptional Center. Enjoy a live jazz band during social hour and later a disc jockey to dance the night away! Find out more here.
- Brunch with the Eagles – Feb. 11
Take a three hour tour on Kentucky Lake to observe Bald Eagles. This will include a brunch, and staff will be there to assist in answering questions and pointing out wildlife. Learn more!
- Crescendo Dinner & Show – Feb. 18

- Audition for Murder – Feb. 25
Get a group of friends together and help solve the mystery! Your $35 ticket includes dinner and a show at the Market House Theatre Annex. Find out how to get tickets!
- Mardi Gras & All that Jazz – Feb. 28
This is such a fun event that supports the Lourdes Foundation. They’ll have a live band, Lew Jetton & 61 South, and food from all your favorite local restaurants. It’s held at the Julian Carroll Convention Center in downtown Paducah. Don’t have a Mardi Gras mask? That’s ok, they’ll have one there for you! Ticket information is found here.
